ArtScene is a stylish animated picture-display control. Images are laid out at thumbnail-size in a row along an imaginary center-line in the applet, with reflections below. Clicking ('selecting') an image causes it to expand in size and slide forward. As it does so, any previously-selected image slides backward. The text caption for the selected image is displayed below it and can act as a link.Scrollers at either end of the applet react to move-hover to scroll the row of pictures left and right. In addition, hovering over a partially-visible image causes it to scroll into view.
Text captions are optional: if an image has no caption, no text will be displayed when that image is selected. If an image has no caption, but does have a 'URL' parameter, the image itself will act as the link: the link fires after the image has moved forward to its expanded position.
ArtScene supports sounds, along with the Cool Focus Satellite system with a choice of two behavior modes.
