Because modern web browsers are able to load applets from compressed .jar or .cab archive files, we distribute all Cool Focus applets in both of these formats. For most visitors to your site, this means that your Java-powered pages are faster and more responsive. Unfortunately, we can't compress as many files as we'd like to:
- If you use an applet that displays images or uses a background image, we don't know what images you'll use
- If an applet supports sounds, we don't know which audio files you'll use
- If an applet supports the Cool Focus Satellite add-on, we don't know if you'll want to use it or not
So wouldn't it be useful to be able to create your own .jar and .cab files containing the classes, images, sounds and anything else used by an applet?
