iTab is a tab control in the Windows style, designed specifically for use with the HTML 4.0 <IFRAME>. By combining iTab with an <IFRAME> and the optional Satellite status bar, the result is a smart and intuitive interface that makes it easy to browse between related web pages.
Along with full control over color scheme, fonts and color-reactivity, iTab includes JavaScript connectivity which can be used to ensure that the iTab control will always select the correct tab when the user clicks a link in a framed page or uses the browser's Back button. The same JavaScript connectivity can be used to intercept a tab-click and run a JavaScript method instead of directly opening a page into the frame.
Although iTab itself is compatible with any Java 1.0-supporting browser, the <IFRAME> tag isn't. Full use of the iTab/IFRAME combination requires Internet Explorer 4.0+ or Netscape 6+. For this reason, iTab is primarily intended for intranet use, where a browser that's known to be compatible with the <IFRAME> tag has been rolled out to all users.
